The inaugural event will take place on the weekend of May 6th/7th 2017 at Tylney Park Golf Club, Rotherwick, Hampshire.  Set in 200 acres of beautiful Hampshire countryside the course was completely overhauled in 2004 in the hope on one day hosting a competition of the prestige of the Newark Cup. At over 7,000 yards from its back tees it offers a great test of golf and has hosted a number of county events. The mature trees and large undulating greens are the main features of the course ensuring an attractive and challenging test. Just being on the putting surface is not sufficient to ensure a good score.

The event will take place over 2 days and be played using traditional matchplay rules. Day 1 , Saturday 6th March, will see players arrive at the venue for 12.30pm for bacon butties and to meet the opposition followed by a debriefing on the rules. The first afternoon of competition will commence at 2pm in the format of 18 hole Fourball better ball taking 90% of the difference, as per 2016 RandA rules, off the best player in the group. Both teams will select 4 pairs of golfers to compete for the pride of their teams and try to win their point.

Dinner and Digs

Dinner Saturday night will be at the New Inn, Heckfield which will also provide the overnight accommodation for the away team. Both the home and away teams will be attending to regale the table with tales of the day. Situated 10 minutes away from the golf course, Tim (unfortunately a Liverpool fan) and June who run the pub, always provide great service, high quality food and drink, the warmest of welcomes and guaranteed banter.
